On Sarah Palin
For those of you guys that are still here...here's a little post about Alaska's soon-to-be-former Governor, Sarah Palin. And, here's a promise that I will at least try to post more often, difficult as it may be.I'm going to reserve judgement on Sarah Palin's resignation. Plenty of other blogs are talking about that. All I really want to talk about is how sick I am of hearing her whine. She came out swinging from the beginning of her choice as McCain's running mate. She went straight for the jugular on Obama, Biden, and most importantly, the media, which she lovingly and right-wingedly refers to as the "main-stream media," which is kind of like calling modern day doctors and medicine "Western medicine," implying that there is some inherent flaw that those of us that are less enlightened just can't see.
So Governor Palin comes out of the gate and starts throwing jabs at the media and the Democrats. It was no secret that McCain was going to be the good guy in all this, and Palin was going to be the smiling assassin picking people off wherever she could. It's not necessarily a bad tactic. Every company, political organization, mob family etc. needs a good hit man. But the problem with being the hit man is it means you aren't liked. It comes with the territory--just ask Karl Rove or Rush Limbaugh. People don't like people that go after them. Crazy thing.
But for some reason Sarah Palin thinks everyone should like her (even though she obviously doesn't offer the same friendliness she asks for in return). And since everyone doesn't like her, she's playing the victim card, and she's been playing it since she stepped out into the public view. I'm sick of hearing her whine (have been for a while), and apparently she's sick of it too (oh wait, she was sick of hearing Hillary Clinton whine, never mind). Maybe this is just some sort of weird political stunt, but you'd think she'd realize people are on to her by now. Even Fox News is fed up, which I guess makes them part of the mainstream media group now too.
Hopefully by resigning Sarah Palin is doing what's best for her family, and hopefully that will mean I don't have to keep hearing her blame her troubles on everyone else. Actually, I'm just hoping I won't have to hear much more from her at all.
